Product Listing
Ancon supplies helical nails for both pitched and flat ‘warm’ roofs.
Helical Nails
Helical nails are a quick and reliable fixing for use in warm roof applications. Unlike traditional nails, they rotate as they are driven in, inducing a self-tapping action and consequently do not split or bounce timbers.
Products for Pitched Warm Roofs
Super-7 Thor-Helical Nails
Super-7 nails fix counterbattens to rafters, without compressing the layer of insulation in-between. They are manufactured from stainless steel and are engineered with the precise Thor-Helical patented helix, and so provide maximum corrosion resistance and excellent holding power. They meet the technical requirements of the NHBC.
Stocked lengths:
140, 150, 160, 165, 175, 185mm
Other lengths are available in increments of 5mm on request

Pack Sizes:
400 Nails (nails 160mm and shorter)
200 Nails (nails 165mm and longer)
Online Calculator: Nail Lengths and Fixing Centres
Super-7 lengths and fixing centres should be calculated using HeliCalc, a free web-based program available at www.helicalc.co.uk.
Users simply input details of their site location and roof construction, and HeliCalc calculates the length, density and quantity of Super-7 nails required. Alternatively, contact Ancon with your project details.
Super-7 Alignment Tool
This innovative Alignment Tool vertically aligns and centres a nail on the counterbatten to rafter arrangement, to improve build quality. The tool features a levelling indicator to identify a vertical plane.
Nails for Flat Warm Roofs
Super-8 Headed Helical Nails
Headed helical nails are designed to secure plywood/insulation composite roof decks to timber joists. They are hammered vertically and should embed a minimum of 35mm in the joist.
For applications with joist centres of either 400mm or 600mm, nails are typically installed at a minimum density of 6.9 per square metre:

400mm joist centres – Fix at every 600mm along the line of the joist
600mm joist centres – Fix at every 400mm along the line of the joist

Stocked lengths & Pack sizes:
145mm (85-110mm composite panel depth) – bag of 25, box of 400
170mm (115-135mm composite panel depth) – bag of 25, box of 400
195mm (140-160mm composite panel depth) – bag of 25, box of 400
