Hargreaves Foundry manufactures cast iron rainwater and drainage
products, bespoke art and architectural iron castings and engineering
castings. Our own branded products include our HF Premier range for
above ground, and the HF Halifax Socketless Soil and Drain system for
above and below ground use. |

which has been supplying quality products for over 105 years, uses
traditional sand casting techniques enhanced by modern materials and
technology, and also offers advice and consultancy. |

| Why cast
iron is sustainable |
| Cast iron is a
long term material, providing whole-life service with little on-going
maintenance. In addition to its unmatched longevity, and obvious
aesthetic advantages, cast iron offers outstanding safety credentials,
effective noise pollution control and, uniquely, 100 per cent
recyclability. Even after more than a century of continuous service,
cast iron can be reused in the manufacture of new products – with zero
contribution to landfill. |

| Hargreaves
Foundry recently supplied more than 380 gutter lengths and 110 rainwater
pipes to the 6,500sqm Grade I listed 18th-century Piece Hall in Halifax.
The drainage needed to be a specific colour to match the heritage
building’s York Stone masonry, and the local council responsible for its
conservation had anticipated difficulties in finding a volume source of
replica guttering and fittings. In fact, we were able to supply from our
standard product ranges. |
| We also met the
challenges represented by Cambridge University’s distinctively curved
Maufe building. Built in the 1930s, it has convex guttering and pipework
on one side and concave on the other, non-standard dimensions, and a
decorative motif. Tolerances were very tight but the replica ironwork
produced by Hargreaves is almost indistinguishable from the original. |

HF Premier Rainwater (BS460)
cast iron drainage for use above ground. The range includes pipes,
gutters, standard and decorative rainwater heads, fittings and
miscellaneous castings and non-standard bespoke items. |

HF Premier Traditional Soil
(BS416) cast iron drainage for use above ground. This is a traditional
cast iron socket and spigot caulked soil system supplied in a black
finish. |

HF Premier Extra has been
developed to satisfy the needs of specifiers and contractors looking for
a ‘ready to fix’ solution with no further paining on site. |

HF Halifax Socketless Soil & Drain
(BS EN 877) above and below ground cast iron drainage systems. The
system is particularly suitable for new build or refurbishment of
multi-storey commercial pr residential buildings, car parks, hospitals
and other public sector construction. |
